The season got underway on 24th March in dramatic style, for the Championship News and standings see further down the page, check out the race report, the photo gallery and You Tube page !! and don't forget to return regularly to get the latest news from the BARC NW Centre.

Latest News on the BARC (NW) Sports Saloon Car Championship
The annual visit to Croft usually proves eventful and this year proved to be no exception.
The weather was far from nice but this did not stop the NW Sports Saloon action from being up to its usual standard ( it was probably the only time the drivers were warm all weekend!).
A number of mechanical gremlins and incidents spiced things up a bit, but those who kept going sure put on 2 good races, with good scraps throughout the field.

After 4 rounds Peter Davies and Dennis Crompton are leading the Championship ....it looks like 2012 is going to be another cracker.
Robert Spencer and Jamie Cryer are not far behind.
Leading the Vectra Challenge and taking up 5th place is Mike Hurst with Grahame Saul's tidy XR2 taking up 6th spot.
The next round is at Oulton Park on 19th May..... you don't want to miss it !!

Latest News from the BARC (NW) Marshals
The marshal training day at the start of the year was well attended, it is good to see so many new faces.
The season has got off to a good start, thankfully not too many incidents.

Latest Mintex Award Winner
At BARC (NW) organised rounds we run the Mintex Award which is given to the driver, who in the opinion of the Track Observers, has put up the best performance in the Practice Session.
The prize is a set of brake pads (to suit the winners car !!) the BARC (NW) Committee are very grateful to Questmead Ltd / Mintex for their sponsorship of these awards, and is pleased to endorse Mintex products, which are used by many of our Competitors.
Alan Fincham was the deserving winner of the award at the final BARC NW round at Oulton Park on 24th September, the FF1600 driver from Attleborough put on a good show in his Van Diemen RF80.

BARC (NW) Photographic Competition
At most of the Race Meetings organised by BARC (NW), we run a photographic competition for under 12s and under 16s with the winner in each catagory getting a small racing car .... what else !
This is proving to be a great success and making childrens days out at our race meetings all the more enjoyable.
A big Thank You to Richard Winter at Europa Engineering for supporting this fun activity.
Congratulations to the overall 2011 winners who's photographs are shown below; we hope to see plenty more young photographers in 2012 enjoying our race meetings ..... Why not come along !!
